Bollywood's famous and veteran actress Surekha Sikri passed away on Friday. Surekha was suffering from a brain stroke for some time and she passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Actress Surekha Sikri, who won the hearts of people with National Award-winning and her acting in many films and serials, died of cardiac arrest on Friday, July 16, 2021. Surekha Sikri was 75 years old and had suffered a brain stroke recently.

Surekha Sikri's family has informed the media about her death. Surekha had suffered a brain stroke for the second time. Her manager Vivek Sidhwani told the media, 'Three-time National Award-winning actress Surekha Sikri has died at the age of 75 after a cardiac arrest. 

He had a brain stroke for the second time in the past. Surekha Sikri first suffered a brain stroke in September last year. He was discharged after being kept in the hospital for a few days.

Surekha Sikri did her graduation in acting from the National School of Drama. He was awarded the National Award thrice for the films 'Tamas', 'Mammo' and 'Badhaai Ho. Apart from the National Award, Surekha also received the Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 1989. 

Although Surekha Sikri acted in many films and plays, her household name became her identity from the character Dadi Sa of the TV serial 'Balika Vadhu'. His tough character in this serial was very much liked.

Surekha Sikri was born on 19 April 1945 in Delhi. His childhood was spent in Almora and Nainital. Later in 1971, he graduated from the National School of Drama. Surekha's father was in the Air Force and her mother was a teacher. 

Surekha was married to Hemant Rege with whom she has a son, Rahul Sikri. Surekha Sikri's step-sister Manara Sikri was married to Naseeruddin Shah with whom she has a daughter Heeba Shah.

In her acting career of almost 50 years, Surekha did not see Kissa Kursi Ka, Tamas, Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, Mammo, Naseem, Sardari Begum, Sarfarosh, Dillagi, Hari Bhari, Zubaida, Kali Salwar, Raghu Romeo, Raincoat, Tumsa, He worked in famous films like Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Badhaai Ho, Sheer Korma and Ghost Stories. 

Apart from films, Surekha has also worked in many famous serials like Balika Vadhu, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, Saat Phere, Banegi Apni Baat, Kasar, Kehna Hai Kuch Mujhko, Just Mohabbat.
