Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians in the first match of the Indian Premier League. The first match will be played in Dubai.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat. When Adam Milne and Bolt chased down, the top four wickets quickly went into the tent. 

At one stage, the team scored 24 runs for 4 wickets. Opener Rituraj Gaikwad was the last to lead the team. Rituraj, who scored a half-century, was unbeaten on 88 off 58 balls. Ravindra Jadeja scored 26 runs and Dwayne Bravo 23 runs. Chennai scored 156 for 6 in 20 overs.

Mumbai - Chennai IPL Classico

IPL matches get off to an exciting start in Dubai. Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings in the IPL Classico. Mumbai will be without captain Rohit Sharma. 

Rohit did not go down because he was not fully fit. Instead, the team will be led by vice-captain Kieron Pollard. Hardik Pandya is also not playing.

Chennai skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Anmol Preet Singh makes his debut for Mumbai. Sam Karan is not playing in the Chennai Super Kings team. Substitute is Josh Hazlewood. Faf Duplessis, who was suspected of not playing, is on the team.

Five-time champions Mumbai are also the defending champions. The team led by Rohit Sharma is currently fourth in the points table. Chennai, led by MS Dhoni, have won the title three times. Currently the team is in second place.

Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals are currently at the top of the IPL points table. The RCB, led by Virat Kohli, is in third place. Mumbai Indians won the IPL last season in the UAE. 

The Rajasthan Royals, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, are currently in fifth position. Getting to the play-offs will not be easy for Punjab, KKR and Hyderabad.
